EDP Energias do Brasil, controlled by EDP in Portugal, one of the main European operators in the energy sector, is a holding company with investments in the Energy Generation, Distribution, Trading, Transmission and Services segments. In the Generation segment, controls the operations of conventional-source enterprises (hydroelectric power plants and a thermoelectric power plant) in six Brazilian states (Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Ceará, Pará, Amapá and Espírito Santo), representing 2.7 GW of installed capacity. In the Distribution segment, operates with two distributors in the states of São Paulo and Espírito Santo (EDP São Paulo and EDP Espírito Santo), in addition to holding a 29.90% stake in Celesc, in the Santa Catarina state. In the Trading segment, negotiates energy purchase and sale agreements with counterparts all over Brazil. In the Transmission segment, the Company started its operation in 2016 and now has 7 projects with 2,714 km of extension. In the Services segment, through EDP Grid, provides technical and commercial services, including transmission, distribution and maintenance systems with corporate customers, energy efficiency projects, and photovoltaic distributed generation.

On listing its capital in July 2005, it signed up to the São Paulo Stock Exchange’s (B3) Novo Mercado which has strict rules on transparency and requires the highest standards of Corporate Governance.

For the fourteenth consecutive year, the company is a component of B3’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) made up of companies which have distinguished themselves in their commitment to sustainable development, equitability, transparency and accountability.
